I’m not sure why I’m bothering with a clue this week, but here goes, anyway.
Nash Metropolitan?
1964 Rambler Classic 770.
+1 although I’ll hedge and say it’s a 1964 Ambassador….
The Ambassador had narrower side trim. The wider, ribbed piece of trim was unique to the 770-series Classic. Actually seems counterintuitive by early-’60s standards, but then AMC didn’t really subscribe to the Detroit way of doing things in the Romney years.
I had to research to ID the model, but the fact that I immediately pegged this for a ’63-’64 Rambler scares me. I spend way too much time thinking about cars.
yeah, when I went and looked I was shocked. The Ambassador had a winged hood badge and a more complex grille, but less trim. I can’t wait to read the article Paul (or a Guest) has come up with since these were the Motor Trend Cars of the year in 1963, and I always wondered what was so grand about them. Then again after 1960 (Corvair) and 1961 (Tempest) Motor Trend COTY winners didn’t seem all that special until the Toronado (?) won in 1966.

Pretty sure you’re right about that, fromaBuick6 — it’s a Rambler Classic 770 from sometime around ’64.
Agree that it’s a Rambler, but my first thought was ’58 Buick.
56 Buick.
