Blast. I never get to these things early enough. Definitely a Regal coupe.
I spent much of my high school years bombing around in a buddy’s ’88 Regal Custom. What a dog. And the ’88-’94 models get my vote for “Worst Interior Ever,” especially the base cars, which had the world’s least convincing fake wood.
But I will say this: That Buick just kept going and going. The whole car was shot, every component had reached its designed-in “GM Fail Point.” It was far from reliable and it took a lot of determination from my friend’s cheapskate dad, but that car just wouldn’t die. It was the poster child for “GMs run bad longer than most cars run at all.” That car had over 200,000 miles on it the last time I saw it, which still boggles my mind.
