Well it didn’t take Dean Edwards long to nail the Vauxhall Victor – good work! My guess is that for folks “of a certain age,” this next one should be an easy clue… So what exactly is peeking through those louvers?
Early 70s Torino.
Datsun 310 coupe. Not the GX version though.
Mustang II with the Cobra II graphics package.
I think you got it. Probably equipped with the fire-breathing 302 2 barrel!
And an energy-draining 3-speed automatic transmission nonetheless.
Yeah, looks like the 1978 version, with “COBRA” in giant letters on the doors.
The shadowing below the quarter window matches the 1978 Cobra II graphics package (even more garish than the 1977-78 package), and offered for a single year.
+2! This is the first clue in a while I’ve actually known right away
Pinto with Grabber package!?!
Maybe an ESS or Stallion package.
You got it Tex. It’s a 1976 Pinto Stallion.
1984 Toyota Celica
That’s what it looks like to me too.
Definitely a Pinto.
1978 mustang cobra 2 flat black under the quarter window and how that window is shaped. But I’m probably wrong.
Mustang II Cobra. Perhaps even a King Cobra package? Wonder it it has T-tops as well, that would be the ultimate 70s ride.
1978 Mustang Cobra II hatchback
Datsun 240 Z
I’m going to go with Mustang II, I dont remember the later Pinto having a full steel hatch like that, I thought the Pintos with the large hatch had huge glass hatch, and the other Pintos had like a small trunk lid? I could be off though, my Pinto-Fu is not that strong
If that’s a Cobra II and it sure looks like it who hit the owner with the clueless stick? That would be worth big money these days.
I’m not seeing Mustang II here for two reasons: the vertical line at the back end of the side window (MII came to more of a rounded point), and the flat slope of the rear window (MII was more convex). I don’t necessarily think this is it because the metal of the hatch behind the window looks too big), but I’m gonna say early 80s Celica.
Of course I’m probably dead wrong.
First-generation Honda Accord.
I’m going with 1980 Plymouth Fire Arrow
This is Japanese, definitely not a Pinto or Mustang II. It’s also not an Arrow or a 280Z. I’m going with Datsun 310 GX.
Mustang2 from the 70s though Ive never seen the stripes that colour so Im probably wrong
1978 Mustang Cobra II, not King Cobra.
Something from the 70s I can smell Brut aftershave and hear Lynnrrrd Skynnrrdd on the 8 track from here!
