CC Global: 2003 DAF CF 85.380 8×4 Truck – The Demolition Men Have Arrived

Sloopwerken, it says on the front and sides of the cab. That’s Dutch for Here Today, Gone Tomorrow. In other words, a demolition company, the guys you call when something has to be torn down. This sturdy and robust truck was parked at the very edge of a dyke road.

The DAF is rated at a maximum GVM of 37,000 kg (81,571 lbs), sturdy indeed! It’s powered by a 12.6 liter inline-6 engine with a maximum power output of 380 DIN-hp.

The white unit on top of the day cab is a BMAir filter pressurization system, it provides clean air to the hermetically sealed cab.

The truck’s drive axles have hub reduction, highly common on heavy haulage tractors and on-/off-road trucks like this one.

The chassis is equipped with a roll-off system for hauling open top containers. Such a tall container as seen here is typically used to transport everything but bricks, concrete, soil and other (very) heavy materials.

Also present at the job, Klaassen’s 2010 Renault Master double cab panel van (2.3 liter turbodiesel, 125 DIN-hp). Asbestverwijdering means asbestos removal.

And what a perfect day it was for a fine demolition job!
