CC Reader Rose just sent me this shot of a Ferrari Enzo that she watched pull up, parallel park, and then wait patiently while its driver and passenger went in the restaurant for lunch. Where is one relatively more likely to encounter one of 401 Enzos ever made? In Carmel by the Sea, natch. Enzos typically trade north of one million dollars. One hopes that Land Cruiser can get out of its parking spot without having to back up…Whoa; I didn’t see anything back there behind me...
The Enzo was built starting in 2002, using technology from Ferarri’s then-successful F1 program. The body design was by Ken Okuyama, formely Pininfarina’s head designer. The 6.0 L V12 is rated at 660 hp @7800 rpm, numbers that seem rather tame already. Nevertheless, if one is running late for a lunch date i n Carmel, it’s still a very effective tool for getting one there as fast as possible.
It’s a little hard to see, but is that an Ontario tag? That’s a hell of a drive in anything, much less an Enzo.
I remember seeing a Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera in Breckenridge, CO with Alaska plates. Big points for really using a supercar as a car.

Seriously, when we visited the area a few years ago and had lunch at a place in Laguna, the variety of cars out and about was staggering. Everything from exotics like this to pristine 60s Mustangs being driven as regular cars. Quite a place to be if you are a car spotter.
When it came out i had an hard time liking it, now i have to say it has aged well ! Must be stunning in the metal !
The Land Cruiser looks like it could probably drive right up on top of that Ferrari without even getting any red paint on it’s rear bumper.
Wow, you’ve got to have a lot of $$ to first buy that car and then have the guts to just parallel park it. I remember driving a Porsche 928S4 when it was new and I was sweating driving that thing. I kept thinking about how much it would cost if I wrecked it.
I still think this marks the nadir in Pininfarina’s Ferrari designs. Although the current FF may be in contention. Those 1960 Pontiac inspired taillights managed to trickle their way into nearly every subsequent Ferrari since.

I was slightly impressed when I was in traffic a few cars behind one of these in the in which I now live in Japan (it’s an onsen resort town, so there are plenty of wealthy people driving around in cars that cost more than my parents’ house cost), but I was MORE impressed by the guy I saw driving around in a Maserati MC12, of which there were 50 available to customers in the world.
yesterday in downtown Portland(Oregon)on 4th ave&morrison in front of starbucks I saw a Bugatti parked between a late80s corolla&early 90s Subaru both quiet beaten up with faded paint&body damages which is the sign of justice in our great country.no one can get that rich by doing the right things.have a great sunday to all.

Personally, I like the lines of the F40 better then this. The F50 began a series of overblown, cartoonish supercars from Ferrari, the newest trying to outdo the last. But then again, who am I? I probably couldn’t afford the cars 10,000 mile service! 🙂
