Paul, do you suppose these people are using this as their living room? And I thought I had space issues!
These things are made (among other places) off the I45 hiway just south of Dallas. Their name is La Casita (the little house) and unless you are way stretched, you can sleep in them. I would personally prefer one of these to a popup but am unsure why. Possibly because it’s always ready.
Did you get a shot of the rear? That could be a Canadian Boler trailer. They are fantastic little things and very light. They are quite collectable these days as well.

I’m pretty sure that’s what it is; I’m familiar with the Casita, and this is not one of them, unless it’s a really early one. The newer Casitas are bigger, and different.
Down here saying Casita is just describing the type. I would be moderately surprised to find one in Eugene although they are probably all over. Plus they are all white. Sure think I could enjoy one.
They are up here in the PNW, I passed not one but two today on the road with large Casita lettering on them. One had a for sale sign on it with a 3k asking price.
That does look like a Boler. Or, as anyone who has ever stayed in one refers to them, a Broiler. They are fun though, I once pulled one across Canada over the course of a month. I wouldn’t repeat that trip today but it was OK in ’81.
If you really want a camper for $8 gas, how about a plug-in Prius with a Habitent? That’s an 80″ long space, the inventor is well over 6 feet tall.
Or can you already do this in your Xbox?
Big deal. The Aztek had that a decade ago, at least. And from one lady I know who owns one, they work really well.
Holden came out with the Hatch Hutch like this in the 70s for the 2door Toranas.
Pontiac also offered this in ’73 when the Ventura hatch came out. My buddy’s Dad bought one new.
You could also get one from IH for the Scout II.

My parents had a ’73 Ventura hatchback which they bought new. Theirs didn’t have the tent, but I recall that we had a Ventura catalog or brochure around the house (which they had apparently picked up when they bought the car) with a picture of one with the tent. Was this only offered by Pontiac, and only that one year?
Back when Moffett Field was an active naval air base, (early ’90s), there were several trailers like these stored near the gate. I believe they were available to service people as a rental. The ones I saw were all white, though.
For more info about the myriad merits of egg trailers, try fiverglassrv.com. Mine’s a 16-foot Scamp, but this looks to be the smallest Boler, 11′ or less. You sleep crosswise in most of these, so you’re fine if under 7 feet tall.
Looks like the type of trailer U-Haul (Y’all-Haul, in Central Ohiah) used to try to rent.
