This Rolls-Royce looks like it has been driven right off a private jet that was chartered in the United Arab Emirates. Just in case the bluff, imposing Rolls-Royce Phantom wasn’t ostentatious enough, this owner has decided to have his Roller coated in chrome. Or is it just a vinyl wrap?
It certainly scored attention, with a group of people, myself included, stopping to photograph the shiny sedan.
Still, street parking? For a chrome-covered Roller? In New York City? Don’t be surprised if someone scuffs your expensive paint job!
If the sun hits it the wrong way the reflection would blind other drivers as if they were looking into a camera flash.
If the aim was to get attention, well, they succeeded.
Yes, the owner has drawn attention to himself for being crass and insecure and having hideous taste.

I don’t mind bling on a car, but this is *way* too much. This generation Rolls Royce is ugly looking enough, but this much chrome makes the car hideous! 🙁

This one is garish. However they did a “Tron” Audi R8 on West Coast Customs with that paint and clear wheels that I think was really neat.

How do you know? Chrome wraps are hardly uncommon, and realistically, makes a whole lot more sense, since one can peel it right off. And is a whole lot cheaper. I’d almost bet it’s a wrap.

What a shame a nice looking car has been turned into a rolling mirror. Those license plates are from August or September 2007 since I had EAZ 5903 on my Caprice, but then again, maybe New York City had reached the E-series by earlier in 2007.
I do not think I have ever seen parking spots like that, how do they work? There does not seem to be a parking meter visible anywhere. Pssst, the Murano Cabriolet is a good catch and a perfect vehicle for Portland’s sunny weather.
Only certain parking spots in NYC are metered. A lot of spots are simply “you can’t park or ‘stand’ here, except between 7 PM and 8 AM, or on Sunday”. With some variation (some streets you can also park during the day on Saturday), and then way uptown it’s all the time except the mornings they sweep. So it is first come-first served, no meters.
Ok, cool. Am surprised at the amount of unregulated parking in Riverdale Bronx. No residential permits, nothing.
Cars like this are what have me convinced we currently live in the most tasteless times in mankind’s long history.
So do some of the ads accompanying the articles here, but at least they also pay the bills, not just attract attention (they are supposed to do both)!

I have seem one in Rowland Heights, CA driven by two Chinese youth. It wasn’t chrome but GOLD, quite shinny gold.
Proving once again that in matters of taste , everyone else is wrong .

The only thing that pops into my head when I see this is..no. Saw this done to a Volvo in Florida (wrap or paint, who knows?) and don’t like it. Not sure why.

The Chelsea area near the Housing Project is a ghetto neighborhood so what business does somebody driving a chrome Rolls Royce there? Unless the person is a Drug Dealer who has many connections in that area, his car will be stolen in seconds regardless of what time of the day this photograph had taken place. Maybe he has too many hot young and middle age chicks living in that project.
