I didn’t shoot this (it’s from truckcamperporn.com), but it sure seem to me that this camper rig was on the move when this shot was taken. What really tends to confirm that theory is that the front sleeping compartment of the pop-up tent trailer seems to be lifting up quite bit, from obvious aerodynamic forces. And it appears that tendency was apparently noticed (or anticipated) by the driver, since there are hold-down straps/cables from the front of it to the truck’s front bumper. Amazing. I wonder what’s the fastest this rig has been driven like this?
Driven like that parking lot speed would be disasterous the popup section will blow away if you shift into second, I looks really Boganish but I have seen a similar roof top set up before.
The only speed it has when so equipped is too fast.

If the camper is bolted to the bed of the truck, it isn’t going anywhere. The bigger concern is that sitting that high up that truck would probably tip during a turn at anything more than a low speed. On windy days must be a b*tch to drive and even when parked…
Hope they’re just taking that stuff to the scrapyard or a garage sale…

I’m speechless. I’ll bet the cross ventilation is amazing at 30 mph. I’ll bet it’s a bitch scraping the bugs off of the windowscreen for that front bunk, though.
We can build a 4.25m high body on a truck chassis before overheight permits are required so that wouldnt be a problem but out of canvas nar, aluminium doesnt billow in the wind so much and just the sheer sail area would restrict this monstrosity untill it blew apart if ya fold the top down its a great idea, stability? its a truck and for a proper truck that aint a problem like I said about 5 of yore yards is our limit and you dont see pantechs layin down here

But seriously, the pop-up trailer isn’t that long. If I was building that contraption, I’d think about turning it sideways so the back part of the second level could function as a porch. As it is, imagine what will happen the first time someone has to run to the outhouse in the middle of the night.
It kinda looks like it was crossing a railroad track at the time so I hope it wasn’t going too fast. There’s all kinds of room for gear on the, umm, lower deck, so there’s no reason not to collapse the camper while in motion. If you do that, the overall vehicle is inspired, in a redneck sense of the word inspired. I’m thinking, for instance, this could be perfect for a LeMons team.
