The economically widened 1948 MM series Morris Minor. I can spot that particular expediency anywhere.
I will have to agree with you jim, the MM has that weird central cover plate as there wasn’t time to redesign the bumper before production started.
Worse, they had already ordered the bumpers so had to cut them through the middle and put in the famous flitch plate.
The pre-widened version must have been pretty narrow. Maybe it couldn’t be seen head-on hence the widening.
You are correct sir. Was there a specific reason that the headlights were moved to the fenders on later models? It made them look even more old-fashioned.
According to wikipedia it was because of US regs on headlight height
The vertical grille bars and the hand crank hole say 1950s English car, but I’m not sure which English car.
