CC reader M George needs to be given a collective hat tip by the CC Commentariat. He was the one who turned me on to the the Bi-directional “CoronoroC “, and keeps his eye out for any other goodies on the street. Today, he sent me this gem. I was a bit suspicious, but he confirmed that he saw (and shot) this with his own (presumably sober) eyes, near 98th and Division in Portland. Now you get to write the clever and catchy caption, New Yorker Magazine style.
For this to work, you have to imagine this picture is in the style of the old black & white Volkswagen magazine ads.

I wish I’d carried my camera more often in my younger years. I knew an old character in Seattle who had a house not too far from Lake Washington that had an acre or so and several storage buildings, with cars and trucks everywhere. It was difficult on most days to see the nice original 1916 Buick touring car in the basement and the still-shiny red 1935 or 36 Ford truck that seemed to have had a storage building built around it, but anyone could see the 1903 Ford on the open-front second floor of the building on the back of the lot.
That’s some high-mileage VW you got there….
