This might be a First Gen Toyota Prius – that’s what sprang into my mind anyway…
It does look Toyota-like. The Echo had that indented lip on the bottom of the trunk.
Since Mr. Snitkoff authored this…a 2000-07 Taurus sedan?
My hat’s off to whoever figures this one out.

Um… Aussie sedan? Yesterday’s CC Clue was the TR7 (and FromABuick6 nailed it.)
As for today, I’m guessing a 2003-2008 (second gen) Prius. Nearly all the ones I see around here are in that shade of silver.
Original (2005-2009) Buick Lacrosse? But that only makes sense if you decide to do a W-body saga or something.
