First off, let me congratulate The Professor for recognizing the Corona’s grille. I thought that would be a bit of a challenge. Now today’s clue is a bit different: it’s by association. I couldn’t resist shooting this young woman working on her vintage Vespa, and as soon as I did, I realized it would make a clue, for a car. Have fun.
Was permission granted from said woman to publish this picture? Or should I even ask?
No. She was right up against the curb, on public property (city right of way extends 13′ from curb), and her face isn’t visible. I shot it from the street. You think she’d mind? It’s not like I caught her in a compromising position, did I? Especially compared to what I see in the parks sometimes. When you walk around a lot, you see some interesting things.
She caught my attention because it’s refreshing to see someone like her working on her bike. Not exactly an everyday sort of thing. Cars aren’t the only thing I shoot. Photographers have been shooting folks on the sidewalk for a long time; old tradition. Speaking of “On The Street”, have you seen the documentary, “Bill Cunningham New York”? It’s excellent, really interesting. This guy’s over 80, rides his bike in Manhattan traffic taking pictures, meets newspaper deadlines, and is so well-known he has the run of the place. It’s on Netflix now, streamable even..

In reference to the Corvette post that is above this one… a scooter is a better pussy magnet. As my now fiance said a few years ago when she first saw me on one (and we were just friends at that point): “Well at least I can be pretty sure you’re not compensating for anything.”

There was a Vespa car, but my guess here is a Cushman product of some sort. I really hope it has nothing to do with the color yellow.

Having wrenched on my brother’s wretched and demon posessed Vespa 20+ years ago the only things I can recall at the back of the engine are the shock mount and the oil drain plug.
Or does the miserable cable shift mechanism terminate there? As you might surmise from my comments working on a Vespa rates near the bottom of my vehicular experiences…
