Story properly would run like this…
“Got the car from new when I saved up from my first job. Drove cross country a few times when I was a kid, dated my wife in it. Dam legs won’t let me get in to the thing easy so I have to fight to get into when son comes to take us out for a ride”.

No story, just a picture, but there is indeed a story. We just don’t know it. This is a very compelling picture. Rock on old timer!

Americana? Really? Not quite the Rockwell painting.
“America” means a lot of different things to a lot of us.
If you look at the wheelchair REALLY closely you can see that most of the non-moving/non-rotating surfaces are covered in small flag stickers.
Yep, Pure Americana to a lot of people. And I say that with no disrespect intended. In fact, just the opposite.

I work part-time at the Carlisle car shows, and this photo reminds me of a fellow gate worker who was also in a wheel chair, and drove a Camaro (although his was a well-worn mid-1980s model).
Sadly, he passed away unexpectedly this year, just before the start of another car show season. This photo immediately brought him to mind.
One of my favorite pictures of the year. It even has a photorealism aspect to it as is and would probably be even more magnificent if painted in that style.
Two trophy winners from the Survivor Class… both probably pretty fast back in the day, now they win on just being tough. They’re here.
I kinda get it, after my 7 surgeries within the last year. My 24 year old co-worker actually called me patina-ed a few days ago. I guess that makes me like my Ranger Sport.
How many of us get to (or would choose to) drive a car that perfectly matches out complexion? 🙂
