Cohort Pic(k) of the Day: Alpine 110 – More Forbidden Fruit

The Renault Wind the other day was a new one for me, and I’d certainly never seen one. I am quite aware of the Alpine 110’s existence, but have never seen one in the flesh. Benoit shot and posted this 110 Pure at the Cohort, so I thought I’d share it in case you’re in the same boat.

Apparently the 110 has enjoyed a reputation for being quite the ball to drive, on the road or the track. It’s a lightweight aluminum mid-engine coupe, with a turbocharged 1.8 L feeding into a 7-speed dual clutch manumatic transmission. The engine is rated at 252 PS (249 hp), but there’s also a hotted up 110S that ups that to 292 PS (288 hp), along with enhanced suspension, wheels and tires. It scoots from 0-100 kmh (0-62 mph) in 4.4 seconds, but then regular version does it in 4.5, hardly a laggard.
