A while back I discovered this hidden resting place for old IHCs. The owner wasn’t around or I certainly would have talked to him, but it’s probably for the best, I would have wanted to buy something from him.

Never had an early Scout so wouldn’t mind one of them, though my first choice would be a Sport Top.
Not much interest in the gold one wearing a 71 grille. It’s my least favorite of the D series grills and I’ve got D series.
Of the C’s it’s a hard choice that I think would come down to which engine and trans. I’d love to find one with the V266 fit it with the 5sp OD. On the other hand I’ve never had any of the diamonds so you never know. Based on what I can see I’d take the red step side shorty.
The truck in the first shot is the exact same shade that my red 1950 L-100 pickup had faded to when I got it in the mid-1970’s.
This looks like it’s in Portland, over by Woodstock up from Reed. If so, those are Ernie Bisio’s cars. He ran the last independent IH truck dealership in the USA on Sandy Blvd up until a few years ago. He’s got to be in his late 80’s now.
Unfortunately the great Erinie Bizio has passed. The majority of the his collection of vehicles he had stashed and at his lot were sold quite some time ago to a fellow IH collector/trader from the Silverton area who has since sold a number of them. I was fortunate enough to spend a fair amount of time talking with him about the old days, a couple of years at the Binder Bee and have is autograph on the LST for my Travelall. One of my favorite stories was how he got the Scout franchise. IH originally saw the Scout as its own car line. So they went out and sold them to car dealers. The Chrysler dealer down the street with his salesmen in fancy suits weren’t having much luck. So the owner offered it up to Ernie then a used car dealer. After getting noticed for moving so many Scouts he soon had the full light line offerings. When he finally retired he had the oldest continuously operating OR motor vehicle dealer license.
Here is a picture of his sign on Sandy Bvld from shortly before he sold off his parts inventory and closed the repair business, I took on my way to the last Binder Bee he attended.
I had the pleasure of meeting Ernie a few times. To bad he’s gone now.

Great all the pictures have loaded I hadnt seen the travelall before friend in Aussie has one similar same guy who had the P76 paddock car but the IH was his daily runner last time I visited.
I could definitely make a place in my garage for that Travelall.
