I think it’s just a well-done wrap.
I kind of like the way the rear looks without the fenders and bumper. Sort of a bob-tailed look. “The Citroen Bob, now at an alley showroom near you” And people say French cars are difficult to maintain and keep running. Psshhh, rookies, all of them.
Like a prop in”Mad Max”.
Perhaps it was rescued from a junkyard or scrap yard, by a well intentioned (possibly very short) enthusiast.
I kinda like the Bobtail look, too.

I agree with Jim! I think the bob-tailed look definitely works on this.
That’s more than I can say for the interior, which looks like they’ve been raising les ratons laveurs in there. 🙂
Fixing this would take a lot of French bread. I think it’s probably French toast.

The big-giant-tire-no-fender look does kind of work.
I remember as a little kid, reading how the DS was one of the most futuristic looking cars of the past 50 years. When I first saw one, I was impressed. But felt that upright windshield rake was no better in terms of sleekness, than many American late 50s cars. It significantly undermined the aerodynamic looks, for me at least. Forward part of the greenhouse looked clunky.
They fixed it with the SM.
This would have never happened if Marty didn’t buy that damn almanac!
The red one in back with the Valiant looks good, though. The brief time we spent on the streets of Eugene last week definitely reinforced its pre-eminence for true CC’s. I spotted a higher density of clearly daily driven, ‘60’s-‘70’s-80’s cars in just a few hours than even Portland, Berkeley, or my home town of Santa Cruz.
Boy, that’s just a sad old thing. I seldom look at anything in the car world and think this, but someone needs to take that old girl out back and put her down. I can’t even see anything really worth using for a donor car.
Full set of glass is about all I see.
It almost looks as if the car has been brought out of the yard for collection by the Trailer of Destiny and Hope. I hope I’m right and it’s not just off another trailer.

My saddest Ds sob story is my own one, a ’71 semi automatic DS21 that went up in flames in a garage fire back in about 2000, I loved that car. Now have a ’73 DS20 manual, it’s not the same…. and a ’55 Citroen TA Commerciale which is another proposition…

I’ve seen worse DSs. An mate-of-a-mate has several hulks scattered around his property.
His taste in vehicles ranges from an electric Messerschmitt KR175 to a DC-3 fuselage on a White truck chassis.
I KNEW I’d see this car here soon. I live nearby and walk like a madman. Good find!
