One of the benefits in living a geologically highly unstable part of the world (we’re anticipating a cataclysmic earthquake; if one day I stop blogging for several months, you’ll know why) is that we have natural hot springs. There’s few things more pleasurable than hopping into one after a day spent hiking or mushroom picking. Although we now usually go to one more hidden that we often don’t have to share, a while back we paid a visit to Cougar (Terwilliger) Hot Springs, which is the most popular one hereabouts. And in the parking lot was this location-appropriate colorful Kia Sephia. Isn’t a bland Sephia the perfect blank automotive canvas?
I don’t take pictures of naked folks enjoying a soak, so this is the only shot I took as we headed down the steps to where the multiple pools have been carved out in this idyllic spot in the deep woods. But if you want to be a voyeur, you can find a few here.
Back to the Sephia. Well, what’s there to say, really. So I’ll just show the pictures and let you savor them over your coffee. Hopefully.
They’ve come all the way from Michigan; no hot springs there.

“Important” “serious” “art”, which is generally not art at all but just a cruel vicious hoax, gets considerable funding to maintain the canvas or the sculpture.
This is GENUINE ART. Beautiful and inspiring. I’d gladly contribute a couple hundred to a Bondo Fund to keep the canvas intact and running.

Good base for an art car. If you want to be constantly pulled over by the cops and searched, hey, that’s the way to go. I heard that in some states (Nebraska, etc)the mere presence of a Grateful Dead sticker is probable cause for a traffic stop. “The nail that sticks up gets hammered down.”

On a recent trip I passed a house that had 2 of that generation Sephia parked in front….both that medium green color, parked nose to nose. One had grass growing around it while the other looked like a “daily driver”.
I had a chance to drive the 1st generation of Sephia, it was actually a fairly decent car, this one? So if any car could benefit from the “art car” treatment it’s this car.
Your options are limited once the clearcoat is shot. This is one of them.
I love it!! What a refreshing alternative to the black, white and silver horde! The resale value won’t be affected one bit as it is a Kia without collectability or any future sentimental value. I sense an inspiration for when my Versa’s clear coat bites the big one.

This is really wild! I enjoyed looking at all of these photos.
There was a Kia Rio done up much in this fashion being sold here in southern Florida a year back in the theme of The Smurfs. It was really amazing inside and out however inside had the Smurfs smoking dope and popping pills but guess better then on the outside cause they’d probably be pulled over by the police more often.
Pretty cool these people came all the way from Michigan too.

Sure is a nice looking car and whomever or whomevers created this car did a good job. Looks like even the underside of the Rocker Panels were painted and I would love to know more about this Kia.
