I took this pic of my (departed) ’73 Dart Custom from from up on the roof. 60 second exposure at ƒ/8, lit by only the high-pressure sodium streetlight up the hill. Your turn: show off your shots of curbside classics lookin’ spooky, sinister, malevolent, creepy, or otherwise like that for Halloween.
Can’t say I have anything to contribute from a personal photo collection, but your pic brought to mind an odd eerie feeling my ten-year-old self used to get when I saw plain jane type four door sedans in low trim spec with dog dish hubcaps. For some reason it seems to relate back to the news accounts of the time, when David Berkowitz (aka Son of Sam and The 44 Caliber Killer) was all over the news. I remember seeing a newspaper photo of his car, which caused him to ultimately be ratted out due to a parking ticket. The attached pic was what he drove, and my pre-adolescent response was, “Of course. Only creepy maniacs drive cars like that”.
What can I tell you? I was a weird kid.

One of the more modern Batman movies featured a black pointy finned Cadillac Fleetwood as Commissioner Gordon’s ride. I’m not sure what year the car was, but this example fits the dark mood of the Batman movies…….
Yep…I always found those Cadillacs creepy…especially the one in Salem’s Lot (David Soul version)
That’s either a 1964 or 65 limousine. When the new 65’s debuted the limo stayed with the 64 body for one more year. Note the 1959 style windsheild.
The hearse version of this generation is also very creepy.
I found my way to this seedy old motel on I55 after gassing up a few years ago and making a wrong turn onto the frontage road back. Much like the beginning scene of a horror movie
I visited a US car show in September – more on that soon on this CC Channel.
I wanted a clear shot of an old Mopar’s license plate, to check its registration later on.
Just a quick shot – so not perfectly horizontal. But it did work out quite well. Sinister car, gray sky, Fury from hell.

When visiting my son in downtown St. Louis last spring, I caught this view from the room where we were staying. There are so many horror stories that could spring from a picture like this.

That ’74 Chevy just looks like it’s up to no good. ;o)
And the eerie shadow that presumably Joseph is casting while taking the picture just adds to the horror movie feel.

Spooky to a lot of us on the 2015 Hot Rod Power Tour in Champaign, IL: hard to see, but some very nice cars in the hotel parking lot about to be hit by a storm… and there was nothing you could do but watch (thankfully it turned out to be mostly just a lot of rain at this location).
My high school buddy and I drove around and growled through my CB radio PA system. Had a blast!
I have no suitable pictures of my own, but went looking for an auto ad that took up the “Halloween” theme; not too many, recently, though here’s Ford, 1930
The line up of old VW’s may seem mild at first, until you realize that they are all pushing 150-200+hp, and all ran 14 second to 11 second 1/4 miles. Mine is/was the blue Beetle on the left end of the line. At the time I was quite involved in the “California Look VW” community. The Cal-look was a style that originated in Orange County, Los Angeles, but has taken root around the world. That particular picture was taken in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
This is from the 1974 Peter Weir film “The Cars That Ate Paris”. Paris in this case was a fictional small town in rural Australia, not the French capital.
The picture of my old 1986 BMW 325es is maybe a little sinister…all air dam and grille.

No pictures, but when I was about 12-14 years old, a guy at the end of our block ran a somewhat dubious business venture out of his house. His van was always parked in front, didn’t seem to move for the few years he lived there. His company’s motto written on the side of the van: Life Extension Through Cryonic Suspension. We imagined the back of the van to be full of coffins and dry ice.
I’ve always thought my avatar pic was kind of sinister…Big Blue sure has a row of teeth on her.

I’m moving again soon. And I just sold one of my cars today.

Creepy Catalina!
Oh man, the Burbs was one of my favorite movies as a kid, and I recalled the Klopeks carbeing a Ford all this time! Good choice, 70s cars with their baroque touches had a scary look in the right setting.
Myself, age one, play-driving in my Dad’s 1947 Dodge coupe. I am told by family members that this is kind of a spooky snapshot, but I can’t imagine why they would think that.
Depending on your personality the old mining town of Cadomin, Alberta can be a creepy place although the few residents still living there might think otherwise.
This picture dates back to 2009. A year later after I left a note under a wiper blade it was moved and covered with a tarp. Obviously the owner was not interested in selling. Too bad its complete, and pretty decent inside. Mods to the front bumper show me it was towed behind something bigger once upon a time. The Falcon certainly suits the surroundings on a cold day in February.
I always thought this shot I took of a ’50s 2CV and one of the surviving pre-war 2CVs was kind of like “The Picture of Dorian Gray”. The ’50s car looking at the ’39 one and seeing an uglier, mangled, one-eyed version of itself from a parallel timeline…

My 79 Lincoln was built on Halloween 1978. But it’s not creepy. No, I take that back, it’s dark brown, so at night…but the cream colored vinyl top would ruin the effect.

Wolfgang, is that a Telefunken radio? Looks mighty similar to one that I have (a mid-1950s Opus 7), minus the motorcycles. I’ve never seen a Telefunken with controls in the speaker mesh area — neat unit there!
spookiest car picture I have is just some pictures at night which I will saw unless something really interesting I likely would not upload just because the picture did not come out well maybe foggy or rainy ones? nothing exactly spooky to me though
