Here is the elusive Verona. I also found a Buick Rainer, Saturn Relay, and a 1995-2002 Kia Sportage all in Portland, OR. Also found a Buick Terazza from Minnesota.
Within the past year I’ve seen them all in my area, but within the past week I only saw a Rainier, Aspen, RL, R-Class, X-Type, and V70. Here’s the RL, the even rarer 2009-2012 version!

I’d love to pick one up, especially a 2011-2012 with the Advance package, but good-condition, low-mileage ones are still just a bit too pricy for me to spend on a 4-5 year old car. Such an underrated model though.
At first glance I thought I was looking at the big butt of a W221 S-Class. Never heard of an RL before.

I parked next to a Sportage a week or so ago and saw a Toyota Paseo laast night other than that nothing, working nights has cut down on the traffic I’m amongst.
I had a busy and stressful week, but wish I’d been more focused, as I might have been able to do pretty well with this. My recently adopted (although likely for just a year or two) home city of Daytona Beach is rife with CC’s, as it is of course rather automotively centered, being the birthplace of NASCAR and all. The marques are heavily skewed toward the domestic, but there are a ton of early Sportages, and Suzuki had a pretty successful run here, so Veronas are not tough to find either. My neighbor 2 doors down drives an M45, and there are 2 Hyundai XG300’s on the short walk between home and my local deli/convenience store (one of which is the even rare “i” submodel, which I didn’t even know existed). Aspens, Rainiers and Relays are not all that uncommon here, as the big SUV and minivan era doesnt seem to have ever ended in this neck of the woods. The ultimate unicorn was spotted on Friday on my way home!e from work though: a gloriously tacky aftermarket-outfitted Jaguar X-Type in maroon with a charcoal gray simulates cabriolet roof treatment, complete the gold badges and “leaper”. I truly wish I’d been quicker with the smartphone for that sighting. The only one of these I’m fairly certain I couldn’t spot is the Paseo. In all of my travels over the past 10 years or so I can’t recall a single sighting other than an occasional tempting Craigslist ad for one of the few remaining Convertible versions. I went through a phase in the early 90’s when I was determined to find a droptop Paseo to use as a commuter for my then otherwise dismal trek up and down the Garden State Parkway every day, and even back then I gave up the quest, as they were so thin on the ground.
Correction: that Hyundai XG must have been an L model, as it doesn’t seem there ever was an “i” version, although I could swear the one I see regularly is badged as such. Maybe I should investigate further.
I figured the Olds & the Saturn would be a piece of cake, but apparently they were all in hiding last week.
Did spot a Rainier, a Jag, and not one, but two Aspens.
Sunday evening, I added a Relay & a Hyundai XG350.
There’s ano orange Paseo parked on my street. Sadly, that’s all I got.
So I’m a little late to the party, and a little new to the site, BUT I decided to take up this challenge. I saw 8 of the 16. XG350, Aspen, Phaeton, RL (05′-09′), X-Type, R350, Sportage, and V70. Here’s a pic of the Phaeton. Its pretty bad, so I apologize, but I took a lot of the pics from behind the wheel. Pretty difficult sometimes in NYC haha.

Only two for me- the Buick Rainier and the Chrysler Aspen.
Of course, a lady in the building where I work drives the Aspen daily….
I got seven of them, though no photo proof–R-Class, Paseo, RL, Ranier (I think, it passed rather quickly in traffic), XG, X-Type, and V70. Thought I knew where to find an M45, but it wasn’t there either time I went past. And there wasn’t even a K900 in front of the local Kia dealership.
I did see multiples of a couple–two R-Classes, three RLs, and a whopping four XGs. Those four were all within 24 hours and the last three were all within two miles of each other!
I only got one, but I saw three Chrysler Aspens. Cheap “luxury” SUVs are all the rage in SD.
