Before I reveal the new (to me) Beater Challenge car I thought I would provide clues.
Being a Canadian I think gives me a bit of an advantage here. I’m going to guess that this is a 1961 Pontiac, and what the photo shows is the looped “L” at the beginning of the name “Laurentian” in the cove of the door. How’d I do?

I glanced at this and thought 1961 Olds F-85 or Buick Special (blame childhood memories). Were these even sold in Canada? If not, that would leave Pontiac as the remaining Y-body. They were called Tempest in the U.S.
My initial reaction is an early (60 thru 62) Oldsmobile or Pontiac due to the deep sculpture on the sheet metal. Also, this is a GM color used in the early 60’s.
As per the Pontiac color chart for ’61, I believe the color to be trade wind blue (left column)

That bit of cursive chrome sure looks like the “L” of Laurentian.
I saw a brochure scan that confirmed the shape of the L. But I’m honoring the spirit of this, and not posting a link or a photo!
’61 Laurentian, is my guess.
1962 Infiniti Q74 with a slightly mashed early style logo. 74 c.i. pushrod 4 with “active” air shocks, luxurious vinyl interior and a two speed hondamatic semiautomatic transmission sourced from the far side of the island.
So, a pre-Nissan merger Prince Skyline then?

I think that the picture can be found in the CC cohort or something close. Also other photos of the car, one on a trailer.
Enough Canadians are guessing Laurentian so I’m sure that’s right, but I was going to guess Lancer, as in slant-six Dodge, not Mitsubishi. At least I git the “L” part. You know, I think I’ve seen more Canadian-plated Cortina MkIII’s, Lada’s, and Mitsubishi Delicas in California over the years than I’ve ever seen Canadian-badged domestics, even back in the day. Did Laurentians and Meteors not sell well in BC (where most of the Canadian cars I see down here have come from) or did the folks who bought those cars just not travel far?

Yeah, and I was searching Lincoln but that didn’t make sense because we knew he was searching for a uniquely Canadian car.
Besides, inline engine and manual transmission in a Lincoln? Not likely, even in Canada.
No emblem, trim, or sheetmetal curvature like that on a Lancer. No Lancers were sold in Canada, either.
I still think you should have used the below suspension pic as the clue! It would have been tough though! When I saw that pic you posted I was able to narrow the suspension down to a 1958-64 Chevrolet front end because of the control arm shape and the fact the lower arm used a shaft mount.
It wasn’t until your follow-up post where it seemed you were looking for a Canadian car that I figured out it was a Pontiac, Obviously with the suspension only, you can’t narrow it to make and model, but I was going to guess a ’62 Parisienne, mostly because that’s my favourite early 60’s Pontiac due to my past experience with that car. So my guess wasn’t far off with it being a ’61 Laurentian.
My apologies if this proved to be too easy for some. Who knew with just a partial letter posted that they very first post would nail it.
