We haven’t kept up with the Cohort in recent days; it’s time to correct that and see what has been recently found by our contributors. We’ll start with a 1975-76 Cadillac Eldorado convertible found by UnplannedObsolesence. These second-generation Eldorados are a recurring topic at CC, with opinions in favor and against. Wherever you stand on that, these are undeniably dramatic styling statements.
Now, for a different flavor of full-size American iron, a 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 4-door hardtop uploaded by JC.
Canadiancatgreen shared this hardworking ’67-’72 Ford F-Series Ranger.
There always seems to be an old Tercel still around. Despite some rust, this second-generation one found by JC likely still has a few years of service ahead.
Talking about cars that defy the odds, AMC Eagle 4WD wagons seem to be part of that club. They were never that common, yet some remain. Here’s a 1980s one caught by Hyperpack.
Benoit found this Dodge pickup in Taxco, Mexico. Information on these Mexican Chryslers is not abundant, but the Mexican built Ramcharger seemed to share that glitzy face.
I tend to find these mostly as Ford Couriers, but here’s a ’77-’85 Mazda B2000 version found by car_spots_aus.
This has to be a case of lots of substance over style. This plain looking 1967 Plymouth Valiant was caught by Hyperpack at the Mason Dixon Dragway, Boonsboro, MD.
Can I interest anyone in this 1980s Crown Victoria in need of rescue? Found by Hyperpack in Dravosburg, PA.
A 2002-2003 Saturn L Series, uploaded by canadiancatgreen.
A different flavor of Mini, a 1978 Leyland 1275 found by car_spots_aus. A Mini, in Leyland from Australia garb, with a Clubman front clip and the 1275cc engine.
An honest, fairly stock looking, 1964 Pontiac Grand Prix, in San Mateo, CA. Uploaded by Postcards From the Real World.
Not sure how many out there remember the short-lived (for a Toyota) 1992-1999 Paseo, but here’s one found by Dave. A sporty-looking variant of the Tercel on which it is based, this is a 1992-1995 model.
And then, those eternal projects. Here, an Oldsmobile Cutlass S uploaded by Hyperpack, with what looks to be a non-stock hood.
This 1972 Saab 95 wagon found by JC, is looking for someone to take it home at a car sales lot in Utah.
I started with US iron, and we’ll close with some too. This 1980s Oldsmobile Delta 88 “Royale” with the early 1980s color scheme is pure time-travel nostalgia for me. Slightly worn and a bit rusty, but what memory hasn’t aged in these last four decades?

I love the looks of that Caddy rag top .
I don’t want one but it’s glorious .
The SAAB wagon looks like the 1966 (? IIRC ) one Pops bought new .
-Nate
The Caddy Eldo ragtop. A car so ugly only it’s mother (or Jerry Lee Lewis) could love.
The above two comments again prove that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Snapped this at our local Dollar Tree…don’t believe I ever saw a Cavalier with a continental kit before!
“Ouch”.
Of all the GM brands that disappeared around 2010, I still see plenty of Pontiacs and Oldsmobiles, and even the occasional GM/SAAB and Hummer, but I can’t recall the last Saturn I saw on the road.
Still see them rolling round “northern, VA”.
I don’t like this generation Eldorado coupe but I do as a convertible. Yes it’s excessive, that’s the point!
Saab model should be 95, not 75 (/pedant off)
Certainly some odd ducks in this lot. I was wondering what on earth the Saturn was, l’d forgotten that one.
’64 Pontiac’s my favourite, ugly-bug Eldo least favourite.
That Grand Prix just glows in person, probably the straightest I’ve ever seen.
Oops, I had no idea what you were talking about until I reread the text. Yes, that Saab is a 95. Text updated.
’64 Grand Prix for the win! Bonus points for its blue paint, my favorite car color.
Like Peter, I couldn’t identify the Saturn L Series, a forgotten car. It looks like a Ford product from the side, maybe a Tempo if it had continued into the 2000s with a facelift.
Love that “GP”, as well!
