A new batch of evocative images by Ralf K (Don Kincl) has just shown up at the Cohort. On this occasion, mostly vehicles from the classic era, sitting in green yard surroundings at “Eric’s place.” A Nash opens the gallery.

A late 1930s Packard front clip.
Not everything is “classic era”; Eric’s place as seen from the road.
A line of classics from the 1920s-1930s.
Remnants of a mid 1920s Chrysler.
And remains of a Ford Model A truck.
A couple of more complete models; an Overland Whippet on the left and a Ford Model A on the right.
Another view af the yard; much to be discovered.

For closing, a Dodge Brothers truck.

Nice. I could lose myself there for hours – and not just because I’m slow-moving!
That Ford Model A truck is actually a ’32-’34. Although the later A closed cab has similar proportions, the side moulding treatment on the A is much lighter, almost delicate.
No gas cap in the cowl.
Such a great collection sadly in the process of being forgotten by time. Too old for anyone to even comment. Where have all the flowers gone?
I came back to check, and you commented. Over four hours after me though. Looks like it’s just us for this one!
And?? Is all of this just sitting as display or is he trying to sell any of it? That Whippet, in particular, looks like someone was once loving it but died / gave up. Will anyone else got a chance at it, or will it all just rot into the ground?
Ralf K sent me a message about Eric’s place just a while ago; “the cars don’t just sit around and rot for a change. Eric is constantly buying and selling or trading cars.”
Good to know, thx.
Don outdoes himself again – superb photography.
Most of these are well before my time. Seeing an occasional survivor in my youth, it would have struck me as ancient. And judging from the tires on the vintage Chrysler and a few others, some of these could have been still driving around within my living memory.
The trouble with getting old is that despite my vivid memories of the times, the reality is those years are over 1/2 century past. Those cars ain’t the only aging artifacts.
I remember hearing stories about the Whippet touring car that my mother’s family had when she was born in the early 1930s. Great photos!
Very glad to hear Eric is trading and keeping things alive .
Thanx for these stellar images .
