We don’t often get visiting Cadillacs in our part of town, so I decided to document this rather odd assemblage of vehicles. My neighbor’s blue Prius C is heading up the parade, and my xBox is boxing in the Caddy, purely for photographic reasons.

What’s the point? There isn’t really; I just get a kick out of parking my car next to others and taking their pictures.
Interesting in that I’ve owned pretty much all 3. My Caddy was a few years earlier and my Prius is a 2G, not a C… but still.
It’s a guarantee that the caddy will need to depart before either of those other cars if Murphy’s Law has anything to do with it. Good luck to the pilot!
When you look at the picture, the Caddy does seem rather small in comparison, but the tale of the tape says
Prius C 157″ L x 67″ W x 57″ H
Cadillac 203 – 208″ L x 73″ W x 55″ H
Scion xB 155″ L x 67″ W x 65″ H
The longer length of the Caddy is wasted on overhang in the front and rear, with the interior not really much larger for all the size of the car. It’s like the Ambassador getting 6 inches added from the cowl forward, providing nothing for usable passenger room, but allowing for a longer overall car.
The Caddy is the lowest of the three. Surprising that the Prius is taller, given the importance of frontal area to efficiency. Prius is narrower of course, which doesn’t show in these shots.
Somewhat surprising, but also remember that even without taking into account the rise (no pun intended) of CUVs, almost all subcompacts and most compacts are taller today than their equivalent models 30+ years ago.
I saw one of these on the road a while ago. I was surprised at how wide it looked compared to the other cars on the road. Some of that is because of the low roof (by today’s standards). But some of it also was because “full size” at that time still meant room for 3-across seating in the front row, something not available in any vehicle now for sale (unless you count the two-buckets with a weird cushion in the middle that replaced front benches in today’s full-size pickups).

On that Prius, the profile kind of reminds of an aardvark.
I think that’s the first time I’ve ever typed or written the word “aardvark”.
To me, that Prius is a better looking example of “headlight-touching-the-A-pillar” styling
than others like the Civic. Or Spark.
The Cadillac does look smaller than I would have thought next to the Prius and XBox.
Unlike many, I think that Cadillac looked and drove okay. But if I was buying new back in the day I would have gone Japanese.

I know from experience the Caddy driver avoids drive up ATMs and fast food drive thrus. I don’t think its my imagination they’ve elevated significantly. And here in Florida the median landscaping is being trimmed taller lately, making harder to safely see traffic coming from low cars such as my Lexus SC300.
I saw a quad headlight late 80’s Suburban in traffic a few days back and thought how dainty and low it looked around the Tahoes and Expeditions and how tiny it’s wheels seemed. Even Rav4’s seem to have 19’s now days.

Yeah, those stinkin’ drive-up ATMs are too tall even for my 2017 Focus.
