I wonder if anyone had seen this pairing back in the day they would have realized they were looking at the future number 1 and number 2 automaker in the WORLD!

At 6 feet 4 inches, I don’t comfortably fit in the driver’s seat of either of these trucks.
The bottom of the front end of the Toyota looks like it just barely scrapes over the top of the tailgate of the VW.
At 6,3″ I agree with the issue with the VW, a boatyard I worked at had a diesel as a shop truck never could fit right in it. The Toyota should be fine in 4runner format. I had a extended cab 87 pickup and fit fine and had several friends with first gen 4runners no issues driving all day in any of them. The regular cabs were another story.
