Every car has a story, but the cars themselves are only part of the whole—they’re the backdrop for road trips, first jobs, family adventures, questionable purchases, and the memories that make them unforgettable. With that in mind, we’re once again looking for contributors to share theirs in Cars Of A Lifetime (COAL), Curbside Classic’s long-running reader memoir series. Whether your automotive journey began with a hand-me-down compact, a malaise-era land yacht, a trusty pickup, a sporty import, or the family station wagon, we’d like to hear about it. If a particular vehicle played a role in your life, chances are our readers will enjoy hearing about it.
If you’d like to become a COAL contributor, send us an email at [email protected] with a brief introduction and, if possible, a list of the vehicles you’d like to write about. Don’t feel obligated to commit to a long series, either—single articles and occasional contributions are just as welcome. And if you’re unsure whether you’re “writer enough,” don’t let that stop you. As we’ve often said, if you’ve ever shared your thoughts about cars online, you’re already well on your way.

I just sent my submission in. This could be fun!
I’ll put one together too, my writing is pretty rambling, but maybe there’s a car in my history they’d find useful. If nothing else, I always took a lot of pictures of everything I owned.
