It’s that time of the year again; that of finding some new contributors for our COAL (Cars Of A Lifetime) series section. Do you have car stories to tell? Trips to talk about? Purchases you enjoyed or regretted? Here’s your chance to tell us all about them.
We know the idea of putting experiences into words can sound intimidating. But fear not, no experience is needed, just a willingness to share your stories and put them down into -virtual- paper. If you feel ready for the task, make a list of the cars you have in mind and send us an email at curbsideclassic@gmail.com
I recently began writing some stuff for CC, though not a COAL series. However, I can assure anyone on the fence that it’s not an intimidating process to reach out to propose writing something.
Honestly not sure I have enough material to write even a part 0 of a COAL given I can think of just one car that played any role in my life whatsoever whose story has actually ended.
Ah, but even if you’re not sure that it played a formative role in your life, that make and model may have done so for someone else out there on the interwebs…and that’s kind of one of the whole points.
Sometimes things/angles don’t come to you until you start writing about them. Not to mention that you seem to find a lot of interesting things to say about the oddities you find down there in the land of Buzz and the Ramblin Wreck. Give it a shot, Gray!
Honestly, it’s more that not all that much time has passed since even the oldest of these has passed from my life. The sturdy family hauler of my childhood, a 2005 Volvo XC90, was totalled last year. My dad still drives the same 02 Tundra. And I’ve owned precisely two cars, one of which is still in the family. However, I do think the readership here would appreciate my attempt to have what was then the cheapest W123 Mercedes I could find be my only car.
I am pleased to see that someone noticed my proximity to Tech though.
You’ll surely be getting more content from me, when I can get my bearings straight. Since my last COAL, on the LS 600h L, I’ve bought four cars (I think; maybe it was five), and am working on acquiring a fifth. I have updates on others.
Intrigued! I have enjoyed all your articles so far and your purchases are so diverse so can’t wait to see what you have been driving in the meantime….
Looking forward to more articles .
Nate
