Some of our current Cars Of A Lifetime (COAL) series are getting close to the end, which means it’s once again COAL contributor recruitment season. COAL has been a Curbside Classic staple for years, and we know there are plenty of you out there with a lifetime’s worth of car stories just waiting to be told. Family cars, first cars, college beaters, dream cars, questionable purchases, memorable road trips, spectacular breakdowns… if a car played a part in your life, we would like to hear about it.
You don’t need to be a professional writer, and please don’t decide that your cars aren’t interesting enough or that your writing isn’t good enough. If you enjoy leaving several-paragraph comments on websites or social media, you’re already halfway there. We can help with the polishing; what we can’t supply are your memories and stories.
So, if you’re interested, send us an email at [email protected] with a list of the cars you’d like to cover and, preferably, a draft of the first one. If you’re not sure you’re ready for a full series, send us a line or two about what you have in mind anyway. We’re also always happy to receive one-off COAL stories and other contributions. The current series may be winding down, but the supply of interesting car stories certainly isn’t.
