browntabby got Tom Klockau’s Lincoln Versailles but will this perplex, being the last car from this brand and the first one with a headlamp washer.
Triumph Acclaim? (The Civic-based one…)
I was too slow. One of the very few CC Clue’s that I’ve ever known!
Triple Drat – just seeing this. I’ve always thought of the Acclaim as an ignominious end, but I’ll be interested to learn if the car itself was any good – build quality excepted, of course.
I’d say Triumph Acclaim (a badge engineered Honda Ballade).
Ah, posted too slow.
’82 Honda Civic
Description states “the last car from this brand”; also could you get headlamp washers on a Civic in 1982?
That’s a good question. Definitely not in the U.S. and I don’t think in Japan, but I’d have to look at a JDM brochure.
They’re not shown in the 2x ’82 JDM brochures I checked. Headlamp washers is more of a Euro market thing, so I checked the French and German ’82 Civic brochures, but nary a sign of headlamp washers on them either. Could be on the Scandanavian-spec Civics, but I couldn’t find the brochures for those markets.
Probably the Acclaim, but from that angle and in that colour I’d almost swear it was my old MkI Ford Escort, except that the Eskie’s chrome was on the grille rather than the bonnet/guard.
Triumph acclaim or maybe mk1 escort or maybe citoen ami or something renault.
Edit. Can only be the acclaim
I’d guess Triumph Acclaim as well
It’s the Acclaim.
That was my first thought, then I read the description – odd how much alike they are in that one detail, when the rest of each car is so different.
