When Mopar gets it right, it really gets it right! Love the color.
I find the 1970 loop bumper a little incongruous with the rest of the design but it’s still a looker, and great colors on this one. The 200s wheels are a nice touch too, always my favorite of the period 5 spoke mags, and you don’t see them much on Chargers
I wonder where Dodge got the idea to split the black vertical grille bars with two bright horizontal bars?
Same. And the tail lights are just a bit ‘off’ to me as well. Still love ‘68 the most, with the round tail lights and peep hole turn signals.
Thanks for that photo; it’s just one of ten ever made from what I’ve read.
Memories, memories.
Hard to understand how Mopar could have had such good looking cars all the way down the line in 1970 (including the fuselage cars, which were at least distinctive even if they had a take-it-or-leave-it quality, and the Dart/Valiant) and have such terrible designs only 4 years later. What happenned in the design studios?
One of those very rare cars, that can convincingly look either very elegant and sophisticated, or brutish, depending upon its colour, engine, wheels/tires, stance, etc.
The “flying buttress” roof is a nice, elegant design touch. It’s all in the details!
