I’d like to look out my window, and see a ’62 Valiant Signet with a Hyper Pak parked outside. Or maybe a Fitch Sprint. Of course the ultimate would be a Chrysler Turbine.
And a Merry Christmas to you as well! I am puzzled though. Are we twins separated at birth? I too have ALWAYS had an early Valiant with the hyper pak and 4 speed in my fantasy collection!! To make it even more quirky, it could even be a wagon!
Oh, and IN WHAT FREAKIN’ WORLD, DID MEN PUT ON A SUIT AND TIE TO HANG AROUND THE HOUSE??..ahem,,, Oh, yeah.. The Madison Avenue advertising world. Ok, I am better now
Merry Christmas
Thanks Eric. You have inspired me to celebrate Christmas like a Champion. 😀
Even though I am in the running for Mr. Studebaker on this site, I have never seen this ad before – making this a great Christmas present for me.
I thought you might like this! I came across this illustration afew weeks ago while doing some research on another Studebaker, and just couldn’t resist running it for a Christmas greeting.
The first car I saw out the window this morning was a festively red Ford Ranger; very appropriate. Best wishes to all and here’s hoping you have an excellent New Year.
Merry Christmas to all, best wishes in the New year
Thanks for providing me with great reading throughout the year
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, and a Classic New Year!
Yes, I hope everyone has a great and classic Christmas and the tin worms stay away in 2019.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone!
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and best wishes for the coming New Year!
The “vintage” Christmas-themed ads do have special charm. Best wishes this day to everyone at CC!
Indeed they do, George. Although sometimes that charm is more accidental than intended.
I wonder if that’s the first use of a car for Santa in an ad or if there were older ones. Excellent cross-promotion here. 🙂
“Santa knows when you’re bad or good…and he’s not in a forgiving mood!”
From the days when a lump of coal was getting off easy. ☺
Merry Christmas / Joyous Whatever to all!
Best present this year, my daughter lengthened by coveralls (previous 50th birthday gag gift) with VW cloth so I can actually reach over my head! Thanks Bun!
Merry Christmas to you all!
Here’s what Santa (in the form of my son Ed) brought me:
A brochure and ad for my truck and an extra hood badge. It’s even for a six, not a V8.
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to all! To those for whom it’s not too late to plan a Christmas (or Boxing Day) visit to the movie theater, I highly recommend “The Green Book”. A good movie, and full of Curbside Classics, albeit with a few goofs; it takes place in December 1962 but there are a few 1964 cars visible in a few of the many street scenes.
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and all the best wishes to CC’rs across the globe!
Accurate looking keys. My 1962 Lark Eight had aluminum ones. Yes, I still have them.
