I’d also gotten a better look at this Toyota Sunrader rig, last weekend.
Toyota campers used to be everywhere, it seemed to me, but this looks bigger than the Chinook campers I remember. The overhang just dwarfs the cab of what looks like a 1978-or-so Toyota pickup. I couldn’t find much information on Sunrader on the internet, and I didn’t get a good look at the truck’s dually setup, either.
Anyway, Los Angeles says Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah, in the language of the automobile.

Happy Holidays to all and kudos to the people who lashed a Menorah to their rental car. Wonder what the megaphones are for? The barcode on the side rear window seems like a giveaway for it to be a rental car to me.
Couple of Toyotas and a Dodge, but what we need here is a Hondakkah. Seriously, these are fun photos. I have never seen one of these in the midwest.

I had an 84 Toyota Sunrader for a while. Nice rig but not without problems. The fiberglass camper body shook to much , everything kept coming down. The 4 cyl. engine didn’t have much power to move the 5000 lbs motorhome. Couldn’t get 20 mpg. The smaller Chinook I had previously was better suited for that engine. If you’re interested in Toyota motorhomes there’s a good Yahoo group that has a lot of owners and info.

Happy last day of Chanukah and Merry Christmas to all the folks in CC land. That is the first time I have seen a menorah display on a car. In my parts it is usually a bunches of cars with antlers and a red nose on the grill or Christmas bows on the grill.
I wounder how that rig holds up at 60 miles an hour?
I’d take the Toyota Sunrader. What better way to road trip the West Coast America, than in a motorhome?
I’d want to do a west coast tour in a VW westy camper.
