Andre Roy once again nailed our last Clue, identifying the Capri in short order. Our next CC is another find by Contributing Writer Jack Lord. What has he located this time?
Edit: Given that we’ve had a Vega and Capri this week, I’m amending to Mercury Bobcat.
The Escort clone, A Mercury Lynx
Interesting, but do any really still exist outside the scrap yards?
Its got a hood ornament though, Lynxes(?) never had hood ornaments did they?
Lynx was my first thought too but you may have a point about the hood ornament–Mercury offered some pretty tacky cars in the early 1980’s but I’m not sure even they would have put a chrome strip and hood ornament on a small economy car. If this does turn out to be a Lynx I hope it has the little silver emblem on the dashboard that tells all of its passengers that it is “Ride Engineered” ( whatever that means).
My first car was a handed down 83 Lynx. Sadly, No “Ride Engineered” tag.
I think that was reserved for the Panthers. A friend had a GMarq coupe in HS with that tag on the dash. I always got a laugh out of it.
I’m thinking early FWD Buick Century?
1986 Buick Lesabre
1990s Lincoln Continental
1986-ish Oldmobile Cierra.
Heck, I could have called it a Cutlass, everything Oldsmobile was a Cutlass back then.
Mercury Zephyr – maybe AN Ln7 ? Like The MErcury version of the Fairmount Futura?
1982-84 Olds Cutlass Ciera
Feels like a mid 80s Cougar
1986 Oldsmobile Calais
85-88 Olds 98 ?
1986 Oldsmobile Calais Supreme!
